“Through the Surge fellowship, I hope to learn from other like-minded educators to help create equitable opportunities for the youth in the community that I serve. As a first- generation college student, I am dedicated to providing the tools and resources to students to see themselves thrive in educational spaces that were not built for them and creating space for students just like them. Experiences like Surge not only builds a community of passionate leaders ready to dismantle the inequalities within our education system, but it shows our younger generations that they can and will have a voice in advocating for their dreams.”
