“I am excited to be a Surge Fellow because it represents the chance to grow alongside a community of leaders who are as committed to equity, love, and justice as I am. My work has always been rooted in building trust, honoring community wisdom, and designing interventions that center Black and Latinx voices. What Surge offers is the opportunity to deepen leadership skills that can allow me to do more with my training as a psychologist and research scientist. I look forward to learning from and with fellows who are reimagining what education can look like when our communities are not only seen but celebrated. Most of all, I’m excited to leave Surge not just more equipped to lead, but more prepared to cultivate leadership in others.”
