“Surge, to me, is about transformation of self, of students, and of systems. I chose Surge because it aligns with my mantra: “Be who you needed when you were younger.” As a fellow, I want to expand my impact beyond my campus and create city-wide opportunities for Black and Latinx first-year students to feel connected, confident, and prepared. What I’ll bring to Surge is joy, optimism, and hustle! I love cheering people on, creating spaces where others feel seen, and reminding students (and leaders) that they are more than capable of winning.
