“As a Surge Fellow, I am looking forward to networking and collaborating with other Black/African-American and Latinx educators to enhance our expertise by gaining insight from one another. I am also willing to expand my current knowledge through various workshops, professional development, and soul conversations. I aspire to partner with others while discovering opportunities for our freedom dreams to intersect and impact our City. I would also like to expand my skillset with the latest research and best practices for empowering our Black and Brown youth. Finally, I aim to sharpen my skills of data response and discover ways to build stronger connections and fellowships between schools and local community programs. I am confident that my participation as a Surge Fellow will enrich my development so that I in turn impact my community.”
