Marlena Little, a Chicago native, is a educational leader and advocate for equity and justice in education for all students, especially those in under served communities. A Chicago Public Schools alumni, she is committed to creating and sustaining educational communities that allow students to thrive.

Marlena Little is the proud Principal of King Academy of Social Justice, where her life’s passion and work is actualized through her service to the students, staff and school community. Marlena Little continues her fight for education outside of the role of Principal as Founding President of Tri-Alpha National Honor Society, a first-generation honor society at National Louis University and current Board Member of Noble Schools. Marlena’s published works of advocacy include editorials with Citizen Education, EdPost and most recently she is the published author of “I Choose You”, a children’s book highlighting the joyous choice of being a single parent. Marlena Little is continuing her educational journey as a Doctoral Candidate at Concordia University Chicago in Organizational Leadership and when she isn’t advocating for students and families, she is the mother of a teenage daughter who follows in her footsteps in the fight for excellence in education for all students everywhere.
