My background is in pediatric medicine and I made a career change to education. I have been an educator at Walsh Middle School for 19 years as a middle school algebra teacher and a Math Department Head. I have a Master’s degree in Administrative Leadership from Endicott College- Massachusetts School Administrators Association, a Master’s degree in Education from Cambridge College, and a Doctorate in Medicine from the State University of New York School of Medicine.
My educational philosophy is that All Students Can Learn. I believe in the concepts of a Growth Mindset and that we must pay particular attention to students from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. I am a passionate educator and work to create a collaborative, positive school culture.
I am currently an Assistant Principal at Walsh Middle School for the past 2 years. My leadership is that of a Transformational leader and a Servant leader As a transformational leader, I inspire others to achieve more than they ever thought possible by tapping into their potential. Also, I am a person that looks ahead and thinks about what needs to be done to achieve goals. As a servant leader, I put the needs of others first. This requires creating a strong relationship with staff and focusing on enabling them to reach their full potential. I am a continuous learner and will continue to be reflective in the work I do and the decisions I make.
On a personal note, I have been married for 35 years; we have 2 adult children who are mature, productive, self-confident, and hard-working individuals. I am involved in my community and serve as a deacon at my church.
