Kiersten Gibson-Cooper is currently the Principal of Prospect School’s Windsor Terrace Middle School. She joined the Brooklyn Prospect community in 2016 as a 7th grade ELA teacher at WTMS, advancing quickly to 7th Grade Level Lead and taking on additional roles as New Teacher Development Coordinator and Equity Professional Development Coordinator. Prior to WTMS, she served as a 2nd Grade Reading and Writing Intervention Teacher and a Teach For America Corps Member in Mississippi. Along the way, she has amassed significant leadership experience as a Policy Advisor Fellow at Leadership for Educational Equity, a Teacher Education Facilitator for Teach For America, a National Principal Fellow at Relay Graduate School of Education, and as an Adjunct Instructor at John Hopkins University. In 2019, Kiersten joined the Prospect Schools Principal-in-Residence program where she has been able to develop herself as a school leader while continuing to work closely within her school community.
