I am a dedicated mother, wife, lifelong learner, and educator. I’ve spent 14 years in education, rising as a transformational leader passionate about fostering change. Beginning my career as a second-grade teacher in Roseland, I quickly discovered my calling to make an impact on students’ lives. A proud Spelman College graduate with a bachelor’s degree, I furthered my education with two master’s degrees from Chicago State University. As a member of the New Leaders Cohort 22, I gained invaluable experience as a principal, shaping my approach to leadership. I firmly believe that the foundation for life begins at school, and strive to instill that belief in every child I encounter. Guided by the principle that “iron sharpens iron,” I am committed to empowering others in the pursuit of excellence.
