“I’ve seen firsthand how the right leadership can transform what’s possible for our students. I’ve also learned that real change happens when we combine high expectations with genuine support—for students and the adults who serve them. Surge represents something I’ve been searching for. The Surge Fellowship creates a space where I can be both a learner and a contributor alongside other leaders who understand the unique challenges and opportunities of serving Black and Brown students. With an emphasis on leadership development, this fellowship brings together leaders who bring their whole selves to this work.
