“Surge Academy means an opportunity to continue to spread my wings and grow as a Black Male Educator. I’ve been working in education since 22 years old, starting with no degree. Throughout my career, I’ve treasured the opportunity to grow personally, educationally, and professionally. Whether it’s my colleagues or the students and families I’ve worked with, I look forward to making an impact and creating change. I subscribe to the idea that “iron sharpens iron.” The Surge Academy will allow me to continue to sharpen my mind, skills, and foundation as a leader within education. I don’t just look forwards to growing individually but aiding in my cohort member’s growth so we can all create communal change.”
