LaToya Black is the Director of Student Support Services, Kinder – 2nd at KIPP Indy Unite Elementary
“Surge is intentional and devoted to embracing Black and Brown youth, engaging them in culturally responsive pedagogy and enriching experiences, and empowering them to do and be what they desire. They can’t be what they can’t see. My goal is to make sure they see themselves through me in a way that they are inspired to dream so big it scares them. I want to truly empower students and meet them where they are to build them up for success – no matter how raw and unfiltered they are.”
