“I believe the love of an educator is transcending. As a leader of color in education, I seek to be apart of and to create spaces where students, educators, and communities are celebrated, valued, and included. The Surge experience provides authentic and intentional development of leaders of color in ways that I have yet to experience. I believe as educators, we are inherently reflective and innovative, and with this, there is a unique power we have in learning and leading along side of one another. Through the Chicago Surge Fellowship, I hope to be a part of a honest and caring community; where the pursuit of justice and love is transcended.”
