Born and raised in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, MA, Ife Oyedele is the first daughter to immigrant parents from Nigeria, West Africa. Ife possesses over 15 years of experience in urban education, which includes partnerships with organizations such as the Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania, Sayre Beacon Community Schools, Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools, and Teach for America.
Currently, Ife serves as the principal of Animo Watts College Preparatory Academy, a high school in the Green Dot Public Schools network. Over the course of her time as a teacher and school leader, she has developed a deep commitment to liberation work through dismantling oppressive systems, structures, and policies at all levels of the education system.
