As an advocate for equitable education practices and policies, Surge will allow me to engage with other advocates to create the change needed to support our Black and Latinx students’ success. I will be able to develop my leadership skills and inspire others to engage in meaningful experiences to change the world. My participation in Surge will strengthen my leadership skills through a lens of community action, social networks, and moral leadership. Surge will help me develop the confidence needed to develop partnerships with other educational leaders, identify the needs of our students and their families, and develop equity-focused partnerships to meet those needs.
