2017 Fellow Andrea Serrano has accepted the role of Managing Director of Individual Giving at Teach For America, an organization committed to expanding opportunity for children by affecting profound systemic change. TFA finds, develop, and support a diverse network of leaders from classrooms, schools, and every sector and field in order to shape the broader system in which schools operate.
Andrea has also been recognized by Chicago Scholars as one of the “35 Under 35 Young Leaders Making an Impact.” The 35 under 35 awards recognize diverse, talented young professionals in Chicago who are making an impact on youth. These young professionals are in the civic, corporate, nonprofit, and tech/start-up sectors.

2015 Fellow Stacey Mitchell has accepted the role of Director of People at the Obama Foundation, a working, living center for citizenship with the goal to develop the next generation of active citizens and leaders — and what it means to be a good citizen in the 21st century. The Obama Foundation’s mission is to inspire and empower people to change their world.
As Director of People, Stacey will be charged with attracting, engaging, and retaining exceptional and diverse talent for the Obama Foundation and building a culture that allows it to reach its goals.

2017 Fellow Halleemah Nash has accepted as the role of Chief Partnerships Officer at The Academy Group, a new enterprise established to create a sustainable source of highly skilled, diverse, resilient leaders to drive the American economy. The Academy Group identifies and invests in extraordinary young people from under-resourced communities and prepares them to own, operate, and incubate highly successful companies, across sectors.
As Chief Partnerships Officer, Halleemah will develop and execute a partnerships strategy for the organization that will ensure that all participating students have extraordinary academic and internship opportunities that propel them to successful careers. She will manage external relations and support the organization’s expansion nationwide.

2017 Fellow Alejandro Espinoza Olazaba has become a 2018 Fellow of The Civic Leadership Academy, an interdisciplinary leadership development program for emerging and high-potential leaders in nonprofit organizations and local government agencies within the City of Chicago and Cook County. Developed by the University of Chicago Office of Civic Engagement, in partnership with LISC Chicago and the Civic Consulting Alliance, the program is designed to develop a pipeline of talented leaders to help nonprofits and government agencies thrive.
